Day 1 to an end

I hope I don’t make this a habit–writing my blog post towards the end of the night.. Day 1 of posting on social media went… ok? I received the usual engagement which I think makes sense but also found maybe one or two new faces in the mix. I’m quite exhausted already and it’s only day 1!

Here’s a recap:

First set of posts went to Instagram, then FB, and ending with Twitter. Props to my fancy cat Cleo for chewing on plastic to help give me content and no sleep.. she’s such a gal, ain’t she? Then I did a thing where I worked. I did the 9-5 thing. I thought about posting something about what I did or my messy desk full of random gear or my over-the-top amount of monitors… I have another 30 days to go to post all that fun jazz. I decided to wait until I got home and post about my “haul” from a pet store called Bentley’s. I bought some cat food, few dog treats for Apollo, and a very late birthday present for my Cleo kitten. Long story short, she was in a cone for about a month and that month also happened to be her birthday. Happy birthday to you, right? So I got her this insane little tea bag–not tea–that’s a mix of catnip and some other substance. She also got a push pop of goo that’s…. tuna? Maybe? It’s pink and she loves it. Icing on the cat was a normal catnip toy with a feather duster like fluff on the end. She was high for a few hours 👍🏼

Here’s that little golden boy waiting impatiently for this cookie. Also on Instagram.

My evening came to a crossroads when I found out my chicken bones that were suppose to be for a homemade chicken broth were tossed out. With the hectic day I had–hectic week it’s been, just having one thing that I thought I controlled went straight out the door. I mean, to the trash THEN out the door. My husband was nice enough to head out and buy another chicken. Luckily it was already a rotisserie chicken. I still have to cut off the meat but we were back in business. After I ate a whole slice of Portillos chocolate cake (be jealous, it’s okay) I made the stock. It’s still cookin’ by the way.. the downside of not having the bones be available readily today delayed the stewing time so now I have to wait until it’s done. Maybe even give it more time.. Portillos cake… not the stew.

I think that brings me here. Sitting on the couch, smelling a combination of my growing garlic (that’s right, I said growing garlic!) and the stock that I haven’t yet figured out how I’m going to strain. I’ve started to slowly collect some tools to grow some herbs indoors. First plant I bought this season was a $4 aloe plant from CVS. I know, I know… CVS?!? I saw a video on YouTube where this kid (honestly, age is unknown to me) takes a huge “mother” plant and was able to separate these little baby also plants and repot. Like… WHAAAT! YouTube’s algorithm has been fierce lately and I can’t stop watching those gardening videos. I really think I need to repot that lil aloe guy. I’m not seeing much growth but I haven’t looked into it much. Next I bought a basil plant courtesy of yet another YouTube video of a dude from EU talking about having a large amount of basil in a few months. He was legit! I’m hooked. I want to have my entire kitchen flooded with the smell of basil too! Basil AND garlic? I’m in heaven. There’s a certain part of the kitchen that smells fantastic. Maybe that’ll be my posts for tomorrow–a starting photo before things “sprout” up!

I’m so cheeky.

EDIT: as I was doing my close out posts aka sharing the blog, I realized one thing today about this challenge. I practically spent the same amount of time creating posts then just viewing them. It might be the reason why I feel so spent, mentally. I tried to create something from nothing. Not sure if this is also on the same wavelength, but I seemed more determined to finish some of the items on my task list at work and at home. We shall see how tomorrow transpires. Maybe nothing or maybe something.
