Long Island Martini–Strong Martini for Strong Women

This drink recipe is dedicate to a select group of ladies at my work place. We have been meeting virtually since the pandemic began and have helped me more than they think. I was telling them how I’m trying to get back to my creative side (like literal creation 😀 ) and here they go giving ME the creative juices (not literal?) to put this recipe together.

This drink might already exist, but I haven’t had it at a bar, nor have I seen it on a menu anywhere. This is not saying much since I haven’t left the house in a year to go to a bar so who the heck really knows now!

Let me present, the Long Island Martini! Please be warned, this drink will knock you off your feet. I had one while writing this and I’m on the struggle bus.

Long Island Martini

Long Island Martini Recipe:

  • 3/4 oz vodka
  • 3/4 oz gin
  • 3/4 oz blanco tequila
  • 3/4 oz white rum
  • 3/4 oz triple sec
  • 3/4 lemon juice
  • 3/4 simple sugar
  • splash of cola
  • ice

Instructions:

  1. Place your glass in the freezer while you get your drink together.
  2. Pour your vodka, gin, tequila, rum, triple sec, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker.
  3. Grab your ice and place it in the shaker.. Shake it up! (I crushed my ice into little pieces. Crushed iced adds more water to the drink.)
  4. Grab your glass out of the freezer and strain the shaker into your glass.
  5. Snag your favorite cola and give it a splash!
  6. OPTIONAL. You can throw a maraschino cherry at the bottom of the glass before you pour your drink in the glass or add it in afterward. Cut a piece of lemon peel and rub it all over the glass. Throw it in!

Cheers ladies. May your glasses stay full always.
